How to book?

1. Read the Itinerary section and decide on your preferred arrival and departure times from Padang.
2. Fill in the booking form indicating your preferred departure and arrival times from Padang.
3. Wait for a confirmation of availability from us.
4. Book your plane tickets.
5. Pay a deposit (25%). Bookings will be held for 7 days without a deposit.
6. Fill in our travelling information form that we will send you.
7. Pay the balance 60 days prior to departure.

Rates

Low season: USD$98 person/day
High season (May1 – Sept 30): USD$120 person/day

A discount of 10% is available to all groups of 6.

What is included?

• 3 meals/day
• Tea, coffee and drinking water
• Twin share accommodation
• 2 daily transfers to the local waves
• Suicides, Telescopes, Iceland, Ombak Tidur, Scarecrows, Seven Palm Point, Hookers or Tikus

What is not included?

• Beer and soft drinks
• Day trips beyond the Awera area

Getting to Padang

Guests are responsible for their own arrangements to and from Padang.

There are 3 major airports with connections to Padang, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore. Currently the best way to make it to Padang is either through Jakarta (and Bali) with Garuda or Lion Air or through Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia.

Kuala Lumpur has great budget connections through to Australia with Air Asia flying direct to the Gold Coast, Perth and Melbourne.

If taking the Ambu Ambu ferry we recommend you arrive in Padang before 4pm on the day you depart in order to make the ferry that night. And depart Padang after 10am the morning you arrive back in Padang from the islands.

Padang to Awera

There are many ways to get from Padang to Awera; these include ferries both old and new, a plane and several fast speed boats. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Ambu Ambu ferry - Cost USD150 return

Taking into consideration safety, comfort, reliability and price we believe the best way to get to Awera is with the Ambu Ambu ferry. Travel is generally in AC cabins. The boat travels overnight so you will not lose any time out in the water and arrive refreshed and ready to hit the surf. Please book early to ensure you get a cabin.

Sunday/Monday Option

• The ferry leaves a harbour near Padang at 8pm every Sunday night.
• In order to make the most seamless transfers guests should aim to arrive in Padang before 5pm on a Sunday.
• The ferry arrives back at the harbour at around 7am on Tuesday mornings.
• Guests should aim to depart Padang after 10 am on Tuesdays.
• If using this option we recommend that our guests either travel via Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia or via Jakarta with either Garuda or Lion Air.

***The Ambu Ambu ferry docks for 1 month/year, during this time we will use the plane or the other ferries for transfers, please ask for an alternative ferry/plane timetable.

Plane - Cost approx. USD150 each way with surfboards

There is also a plane flying to the Mentawai Islands twice weekly, currently Tuesday and Saturdays. The timetable is seems subject to change so please inquire about the latest.

Fast Boats - Cost USD900 to USD1500 each way per group

There are a number of speedboats that can be chartered to do these transfers; they take between 2 and 5 hours for the crossing.
